We at Metroll Newcastle offer an extensive range of unique, innovative fastener solutions for metal, wood, concrete and masonry applications. These superior quality fasteners are designed for a variety of uses including premium metal roof and wall applications.

Fasteners are manufactured in a wide range of materials from common steel to titanium, plastic and other exotic materials. The fastener material determines the strength, brittleness, corrosion resistance, galvanic corrosion properties, and cost. These fasteners come in different material grade and a variety of coatings to enhance the corrosion resistance and/or their appearance.

Designed specifically for premium metal roof and wall applications, our fasteners comply with standard AS 3566 that requires minimum corrosion resistance levels under accelerated testing of 1000 hours, salt spray testing, 15 cycles acid rain testing, 2000 hours testing for organic coatings and 1000 hours humidity testing.

The testing of new types of coatings and fasteners, which have appeared since the introduction of AS 3566 in conjunction with ZINCALUME® steel and COLORBOND® steel, have taught the industry many valuable lessons. One such lesson is that stainless steel fasteners have been shown to be incompatible with COLORBOND® steel and cause premature corrosion of roofing sheets.

Our helpful staff can help you access the most appropriate fastener application to match the performance of fasteners to the metal cladding or roofing, as well as having compatible life with the cladding or roofing. We specify that fasteners must at least meet AS 3566 Class 3 if the basic objective of having fastener and cladding compatible life spans is to be met.
