Enquire About Insulation Blankets Now

The Building Code of Australia (BCA) now includes energy efficiency provisions for most classes of buildings. Insulation is the single most cost effective way of improving a building’s energy efficiency and the adoption of these changes will require most new homes build in Australia to incorporate wall and roof insulation. The level of insulation required will depend on the climatic region of the project and construction type.

Vapa-Chek™ can be used to comply with these requirements in many of the climatic regions where metal roofing is installed. For more information refer to the Insulco brochure “the BCA Insulation Requirements Made Easy” or contact your nearest Insulco office.

Vapa-Chek™ complies with the insulation product standard. AS/NZS4859.I, which is also a requirement of the BCA. This ensures the stated performance is met in practice, so you and your customers can be confident of getting the performance you are paying for.

Condensation Control

Condensation is formed when warm, moist air comes in contact with the colder surface such as metal roof on a cool night. The combination of the insulation blanket and the impermeable foil facing of Vapa-Chek™ prevents the warm moist air reaching the roof surface, significantly reducing the possibility of condensation problems.

Condensation can also occur in tropical regions. It is recommended in these regions that the foil facing of Vapa-Chek™ be installed facing UP. For these applications the use of an anti-glare foil facing is required and Vapa-Chek™ can be supplied in this form.

When condensation is a concern, the foil face on Vapa-Chek™ should be sealed with an Insulco® foil tape or suitable adhesive at all joins.
