What is Polyair?

Thermo Cellular Reflective Insulation

A multi-layered blanket, with two outer layers of aluminium foil reinforced with a woven mesh bonded to an inner core of polyethylene bubbles that is well suited to industrial, commercial, residential, rural and retrofit, ceiling, wall, and floor applications.

It offers exceptional heat and sound insulation including 85% of a buildings heat gain or loss is through radiant heat, with 10% conduction, and 5% convection.

Polyair incorporates 99.4% pure aluminium to reflect back 97% of radiation heat, providing superior insulation keeping buildings cooler in summer, warmer in winter.

The bubbles in the middle help stop the heat on the top from passing through to the bottom keeping the bottom cooler in summer while in winter it works in reverse- conductional resistance.

It has exceptional performance, ease of installation and eco-friendly properties and is acknowledged by NASA and other advanced users as a method of heat gain blockage and radiation (infra red) blockage.

Applied as a single building wrap, substantial savings can be made on installation costs compared with conventional methods, lowering energy costs and reducing greenhouse gas emissions to the benefit of the environment.

Polyair can be installed as a stand-alone system, or can be combined with conventional insulation such as Martini PolyMax to provide the ultimate in insulation performance.

Thermal insulation efficiency is stated as an R-value, which is its resistance to heat flow - the higher the R-value the better the performance. Polyair insulation optimises the available air space to maximise the R-value.

Polyair Grade
R Value Standard
Polyair Maxi Cell
R2.7 AS/NZ4859.1
Polyair Super
R2.7 AS/NZ4859.1
Polyair Premium Silver
R2.0 AS/NZ4859.1
Polyair One
R1.5 AS/NZ4859.1
Polyair Barrier
R1.0 AS/NZ4859.1
Polyair Sound
R2.5 AS/NZ4859.1

It incorporates two aluminium foil layer and either a single or double layer of large bubble polyethylene film specially formulated to eliminate noise transfer. Based on ISO 717-1 standard Polyair Sound achieves an effective reduction of 20 dBA.

Polyair provides a superior water and vapour barrier, eliminating the need for any additional layers. It also eliminates heat lags - the release that happens when conventional bat type insulation materials cool down.

Its safety and ecological features include:

• Allergy free, non-toxic
• Odourless and safe to handle
• No protective equipment or clothing required during installation
• Exceeds Australian building Code requirements for fire safety
• Approved by the Australia Asthma Foundation
• Totally recyclable
