Length

We can supply .65 Curving Quality Corodek® COLORBOND® or ZINCALUME® sheeting up to a maximum length of 4 metres. Longer lengths may be possible to be supplied subject to arrangement with our office.

Lengths ordered for manufacture need to be site measurements, not those taken off plans. Please take into account when specifying .65 Curving Quality Corodek® a minimum radius of 300mm and an overhang of not less than 100mm onto the beam (this is adjacent to the curve and cannot be curved). Length tolerance on .65 Curving Quality Corodek® is ± 10mm.

Handling of Material

When handling .65 Curving Quality Corodek® care should be taken at all times to preserve the quality of the finish. Packs should be kept dry and stored above ground level whilst on site. If however the sheets do become wet they should be separated, wiped and placed in the open to dry.

Laying Procedure

Walking on Roof Sheeting

When walking on .65 Curving Quality Corodek® roof sheeting always wear flat rubber soled shoes and endeavour to walk over areas where you have purlin or batten supports.

Saw-toothing

Saw-toothing occurs when curved steel sheets are laid (or stepped) over each other. This is an inherent part of bullnosing and cannot be avoided. To make sure that the roof being fixed is running square it is essential to ensure that the saw-tooth at each end of the sheet are equal measurement.

Installation Tips For Bullnose Sheeting

• Use a carpenters level to lay the first sheet.

• To ensure that the overlaps are snug, a rope with
a hook at one end is useful. Position the overlap and    put the hook over the far end of the sheet, running    down the overlap towards the curved end. Apply a    downward force to the end of the rope while tapping    the sheet slightly. A loop in the end of the rope will act    as a stirrup for the fixer.

• Always measure every third or fourth sheet to check    for squareness.

Location of Fasteners at Supports

.65 Curving Quality Corodek® may be fastened to timber or steel supports by conventional crest fixing. There should be 5 fixings per sheet at ends and end laps for normal conditions and 3 fixings per sheet at intermediate supports. For severe exposure conditions, higher wind design pressures can be achieved by use of 5 fixings per sheet at intermediate supports.

Cleanup

Prior to departing the work site each day please take care to remove all foreign debris, screws, rivets and especially any swarf from drilling or cutting from the roof surface or from inside the gutters. Failure to do this may result in premature corrosion of the roof or gutter system.

Compatibility

Never use lead flashings with ZINCALUME® or COLORBOND® .65 Curving Quality Corodek® roof sheeting. As these products are inert materials drainage from this type of roof should not be allowed to discharge into Galvanised rainwater goods. Drainage from copper roofs onto Galvanised, ZINCALUME® or COLORBOND® roofing or rainwater should not be allowed. Each of the combinations listed above can cause premature corrosion.

Other Materials

.65 Curving Quality Corodek® roof sheeting can be roll formed to order in Galvanised, ZINCALUME® or the standard range of COLORBOND® colours. Some branches may keep more than the standard colours in the range. Please enquire at your local branch as to lead time and availability.

Harsh Environments

If you intend to use .65 Curving Quality Corodek® roof sheeting within 1km of Industrial, Salt marine or unusually corrosive environments please do not hesitate to contact us for advice on the best product application.
