Cutting

Corodek® can be cut where necessary by using a circular saw with a metal cutting blade, not an abrasive disc. When you cut COLORBOND® sheeting ensure the coloured surface is placed downwards to lessen the likelihood of swarf (hot metal filings) being embedded in the exposed roof surface.

Handling of Material

When handling Corodek® care should be taken at all times to preserve the quality of the finish. Packs should be kept dry and stored above ground level whilst on site. If however the sheets do become wet they should be separated, wiped and placed in the open to dry.

Length

Metroll can supply Corodek® COLORBOND® or ZINCALUME® sheeting up to a maximum length of 27 metres depending on load limit regulations set by the relevant local transport authority. Lengths ordered to be manufactured by Metroll must be site measurements, not those taken off plans. The required sheet length is obtained by measuring the distance from the ridges to external edges, or fascia and adding 50mm for overhang into gutter. Length tolerance on Corodek® is ± 10mm.

Walking on Corodek®

When walking on Corodek® roof sheeting always wear flat rubber soled shoes and endeavour to walk over areas where you have purlin or batten supports.

Cleanup

Prior to departing the work site each day please take care to remove all foreign debris, screws, rivets and especially any swarf from drilling or cutting from the roof surface or from inside the gutters. Failure to do this may result in premature corrosion of the roof or gutter system.

Compatibility

Never use lead flashings with ZINCALUME® or COLORBOND® Corodek® roof sheeting. As these products are inert materials drainage from this type of roof should not be allowed to discharge into Galvanised rainwater goods. Drainage from copper roofs onto Galvanised, ZINCALUME® or COLORBOND® roofing or rainwater should not be allowed. Each of the combinations listed above can cause premature corrosion.

Other Materials

Corodek® roof sheeting can be roll formed to order in Galvanised, ZINCALUME® or the standard range of 18 COLORBOND® colours. Some branches may keep more than the standard 18 colours in the range. Please enquire at your local branch as to lead time and availability.

Harsh Environments

If you intend to use Corodek® roof sheeting or walling within 1km of industrial, salt marine or unusually corrosive environments please do not hesitate to contact us for advice on the right product to use.

Suggested Specification

All roofing and walling cladding as shown on the drawings shall be Corodek® as manufactured by Metroll Pty Ltd. It needs to be fixed in a workmanlike manner and in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations. Base sheet shall be G550, AZ150 with specified finish.

Availability & Delivery

Prompt, efficient delivery is assured. Enquire for the relevant delivery days in your area. You can assist us to supply material in good order by ensuring that suitable arrangements have been made to unload our trucks. To prevent damage when lifting long lengths of sheeting by crane, ensure that the load is spread. Where a crane cannot be made available, it is the customer’s responsibility to provide sufficient labour to assist the driver to unload.
