Length

SPANPLUS has a 500mm cover which allows ease of handling during installation. Sheets are available to a minimum length of 1200mm and are manufactured to length, to minimise wastage onsite.

Scope

Where indicated on drawings, provide and fix pan of roof sheeting having ribs of truncated triangular shape all as specified with all the necessary fasteners, accessories and flashings.

Preparation

Ensure that the tops of the beams, purlins or battens are all in one plane by packing or easing between purlin and supports.

Handling of Material

When handling SPANPLUS 500™ care should be taken at all times to preserve the quality of the finish. Packs should be kept dry and stored above ground on dunnage whilst on site. If sheets do become wet, these need to be separated, wiped and placed in the open air to dry.

Fastening Sheets to Supports

SPANPLUS 500™ may be crest fixed to timber or steel
roofing or walling supports, or valley fixed to steel
supports or timber walling supports. Fasteners need to be located at less than 25mm from ends of sheets.

Cutting

SPANPLUS 500™ wall cladding can be cut by using a
circular saw with a metal cutting blade, power shears or
nibblers.

Clean Up

Prior to departing the worksite, remove all foreign debris, screws, rivets and especially any swarf from drilling or cutting from the roof surface. Failure to do this may result in premature corrosion of the cladding
system.

Compatibility

Never use lead flashings with ZINCALUME® steel and
COLORBOND® steel SPANPLUS 500™ cladding.

Harsh Environments

Avoid using SPANPLUS 500™ cladding within 1km
of industrial, chemical, marine or unusually corrosive
environments. If your project is located within a corrosive region please contact your nearest Metroll office for advice on the right product to use.

Workmanship

Designs and drawings need to specify SPANPLUS 500™
as manufactured by Metroll Pty Ltd. SPANPLUS 500™
must be installed according to the manufacturer’s
recommendations.
