Rainwater Tank Installation Guide
- The tank stand must be stable, firm, flat, compacted & free from any rocks, stones, or sharp objects.
- The tank stand must be larger than the tank diameter & able to fully support the tank
- If sand, crusher dust, or other consolidated fill is used as the stand, it is to be a minimum of 75mm in
thickness & a supporting wall is to be used around it to prevent erosion
- Tank stand must be able to safely support the tank
when full of water, bearing in mind that water weighs
1kg per litre, so a 5000L tank will weigh 5 tonnes when full
- A reinforced concrete base is ideal but must also be
larger than the diameter of the tank
- The overflow of the tank must be piped at least 2m
clear of the tank to avoid undermining of the tank stand
- All CORSTRIP® must be removed from tank
immediately after installation
