Warranties
Manufacturer’s material warranties cover the material those
products are made from, such as Colorbond®. Some manufacturers
of these products also offer performance warranties to assure users
their products perform as expected when installed.

Warranties are available against corrosion to perforation by weathering
in the natural elements, and some products also have paint warranties.

conditions of the warranties and are available to download in the
relevant sections.
Warranties are not available for all products and applications. The
duration, terms and conditions of available warranties vary according
to product use and application. Please see below for further information
on the warranties that may be available for your project.
Roofing
For ZINCALUME® steel (AZ150 minimum coating mass) the manufacturer
offers a warranty against corrosion to perforation by weathering
in the natural elements:
- Up to 30 years warranty for all installations made from 1 November
2004.
- Up to 25 years warranty for all installations made prior to
1 November 2004.
For ZINCALUME® steel and COLORBOND® steel, the manufacturer
offers a warranty against corrosion to perforation by weathering
in the natural elements for a maximum warranty period of 30 years.
There is a manufacturer’s a warranty of up to 25 years from
the date of installation against corrosion to perforation by weathering
in the natural elements for our pre-painted steel products when
used in roofing applications:
- COLORBOND® Stainless steel
- COLORBOND® Ultra steel
The manufacturer warrants that the COLORBOND® steel suite of
products will not flake or peel for 12 years. Roofing warranties
are applicable across residential and industrial/commercial roofing
applications.

COLORBOND® Prepainted Steel for Roofing - Sample Warranty
* The 30 Year COLORBOND® steel and ZINCALUME® steel for
Roofing Warranty applies as follows:
- Installed pitch of the roof is equal to or greater than 5 degrees
above the horizontal.
- The roof is fully lined and does not contain exposed eaves
or other areas sheltered or unwashed by natural rainfall.
- The roof is located more than 5km from salt water.
** The 10 Year COLORBOND® Ultra steel for Roofing Warranty
applies to COLORBOND® Ultra pre-painted steel installed as roofing
in severe marine environments (Less than 100m from breaking surf).
The additional terms/conditions are:
- Installed pitch of the roof is equal to or greater than 5 degrees
above the horizontal.
- The roof is fully lined and does not contain exposed eaves
or other areas sheltered or unwashed by natural rainfall.
- All fasteners used for fixing the product to be in accordance
with manufacturer recommendations and comply with Australian Standard
AS3566: Class 4 where applicable.
Walling
There is a manufacturer’s a warranty of up to 15 years from
the date of installation against corrosion to perforation by weathering
in the natural elements. It is applicable to light industrial/commercial
walling applications (excludes residential walling applications)
located greater than 1km from a marine environment. It applies to
the following products when used in light commercial/industrial
walling applications:
- ZINCALUME® AZ150 steel (>=0.35mm Base Metal Thickness)
- COLORBOND® steel (>=0.35mm Base Metal Thickness)
- COLORBOND® Ultra steel
- COLORBOND® Stainless steel
For COLORBOND® steel, there is a manufacturer’s warranty
that the paint system will not flake or peel for 12 years.

Gutters & Downpipes
There is a manufacturer’s warranty of 12 years from the date
of installation against corrosion to perforation by weathering in
the natural elements.
It applies to the following products when used in rainwater goods
applications:
- ZINCALUME® AZ150 steel
- COLORBOND® steel
- COLORBOND® Ultra steel
- COLORBOND® Stainless steel
For COLORBOND® steel, there is a warranty that the paint system
will not flake or peel for 12 years.

Goods - Sample Warranty
Fencing
A manufacturer’s warranty of 10 years from the date of installation
against corrosion to perforation by weathering in the natural elements
and also warrants that the paint system will not flake or peel for
12 years. It applies to the following products when used in fencing
applications located greater than 1km from a marine environment:
COLORBOND® steel for fencing.

Insulated Panels
A warranty of 10 years from the date of installation against corrosion
to perforation, for insulated panels manufactured from the following
products: COLORBOND® Permagard™ Insulated Panel Steel.
COLORBOND® Insulated Panel Steel. It is Applicable to a wide
range of cool room applications.
Water Tanks
The manufacturer offers a warranty of 20 years from the date of
installation against corrosion to perforation of water tanks. AQUAPLATE®
Z275 and Z450 steel for tank walls and lids. Double-sided AQUAPLATE®
Z275 steel for tank bases.
Purlins & Girts
The manufacturer offers a warranty of 10 years from the date of
installation against corrosion to perforation by natural degradation,
when used within the building envelope. It is applicable to light
industrial/commercial applications located greater than 1km from
a marine environment only and applies to the following products
when used in purlin applications:
- GALVASPAN® steel Z350 or Z450
